The vast Amazon jungle is usually more closesy associated with Brazil or Peru, however one of the many wonderful benefits of Ecuador is that it is home to an incredible variety of landscapes. To the east of the Andes, which stretch drammatically down Ecuador's spine, is a vast and biodiverse Amazon jungle region that is one of the best regions in the whole of the Amazon: it is incredibly biodiverse with fantastic wildlife opportunities, it is very accessible via a short flight from Quito making this an excellent addition to a holiday to the Galapagos, and the standard of lodges is among the highest in the Amazon.
