Holiday Itinerary

Arrive in Buenos Aires. We will meet you on arrival at the airport and escort you by private vehicle to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Buenos Aires and adjust to your new surroundings. Buenos Aires is famous for its stunning architecture, pretty parks (with purple coloured leaves in spring) and great nightlife, all of which are within a short walking distance from your hotel. Enjoy a tour to discover the beauty and magic of Buenos Aires. Observe the symbolic Obelisk on 9 de Julio street before continuing to visit Plaza de Mayo to see the Cathedral and Casa Rosada (and itss famous "Evita balcony"). From here continue south to San Telmo famous for its antiques shops and market (Sunday only) before touring La Boca, home to the colourful Caminito Street with its tango dancers and souvenir shops, and Boca Juniors football stadium. Next visit the port district of Puerto Madero and the residential district of Palermo with its large parks and monuments. The tour concludes in Recoleta, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Buenos Aires where you will find the famous Recoleta cemetery, elegant cafes and restaurants.

This morning we will escort you on a short journey to Buenos Aires' domestic airport for a flight to the city in Salta in Argentina's north. In the afternoon you will enjoy a tour of Salta to see the most attractive and famous sites including the Cathedral, the Historical Museum of the North (Cabildo), the beautiful San Francisco Church, San Bernardo Convent and the Guemes Monument. A highlight of the tour is the visit to San Bernardo hill which has wonderful panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscape. The tour concludes with a visit to the village of San Lorenzo on the outskirts of the city, the village has a sub-tropical climate and an excellent traditional crafts market.

This morning after enjoying breakfast in your hotel you will set off on a journey through the stunning landscapes of this region of Argentina. The journey begins along the Lerma Valley and continues through the majestic valleys of this region reaching the highest point at Piedra del Molina (3384 metres) before descending and crossing Los Cardones National Park to reach the town of Cachi where you can buy some lunch. In the afternoon the journey continues along the famous Route 40 before you arrive at Cafayate and onward to your hotel for the evening.

Today enjoy a free day in Cafayate. The hotels we use are boutique wine hotels, so you can relax in the grounds of your hotel, sample some of the local wines, or stroll into the town of Cafayate and enjoy a relaxing day in these tranquil surroundings.

This morning enjoy a tour to visit some of the local boutique, artesanal and industrial wineries in and around Cafayate to taste some of the fabulous and award-winning wines from this region. In the afternoon return to Salta for the evening.

Today you will enjoy a full day journey from Salta to the village of Purmamarca. Visit the pre-Inca archaeological site of Santa Rosa de Tastil which was inhabited as recently as the 15th century before the invading Inca laid siege to the site, reach the highest point of the journey (4080m) before arriving at San Antonio de los Cobres where you can buy some lunch, visit the Salinas Grandes salt lakes, travel through Cuesta de Lipan where condors can be seen gliding, and arrive at the village of Purmamarca where you will spend the evening. This lovely little village sits in the shadow of the famous Seven Colours Hill.

A fabulous day exploring the Quebrada de Humuaca, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003. Visit the archaeological site of Pucara and the nearby Archaeological Museum, admire the views of Pollera de la Colla multi-coloured hill, visit the beautiful church at Uquía where there are the paintings related to the famous Cuzco School of Art, and conclude the day in Humahuaca with its important Cathedral. Once the day has concluded we will escort you back to Salta for the evening.

This morning fly to Puerto Iguazu on the Argentina side of Iguazu Falls. On arrival we will escort you your hotel in this sub-tropical jungle region of Argentina.

Today enjoy a guided excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Iguazu National Park to experience the incredible Iguazu Falls in all their glory. Start your visit by strolling along walkways built around the falls which provide some unique views of the falls. Later take the small train within the park to visit the spectacular Devil's Throat, the most furious and powerful part of the falls. In the afternoon your tour continues with an exhilarating boat safari up river to the base of the falls - just bring some waterproofs as you may get wet!

This morning you will travel over the border into Brazil to enjoy a guided visit of the Brazilian side of the falls. The Brazilian side has the most impressive panoramic views of the hundreds of falls that make up the Iguazu Falls. Afterwards we will escort you back across the border into Argentina and to Puerto Iguazu airport for a return flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival in Buenos Aires we will escort you to your hotel where the remainder of the evening will be free time for you to enjoy your final night in South America.
