Holiday Itinerary

Arrive in Lima at any time to start your Peru and Argentina holiday and on arrival we will meet you and escort you by private vehicle through Lima to your hotel in the nice Lima district of Miraflores. During the journey and when we help you check-in to your hotel we will be on-hand to answer any questions you may have such as location of ATM machines, restaurant recommendations or whatever you need.

Today enjoy a free day in Lima to relax and adjust to your new surroundings following your long-haul flight to Peru, and to give you the opportunity to explore the Miraflores region. This modern district is famous for its artesan crafts markets, fabulous restaurants and the views over the Pacific Ocean from Parque del Amor. The ancient pyramid-ruin of Huaca Pucllana is within walking distance from central Miraflores and is worth visiting.

Cusco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most historic, beautiful and interesting cities to explore in South America. The historic centre of the city, in particular the area in and around the main central plaza, is full of cobbled Inca streets, colonial architecture, churches and chapels, crafts markets, art galleries, museums and much more, and is a fabulous place to explore. Today you will enjoy a day at leisure to experience Cusco and to give you time to visit sights that are not included in the remainder of your holiday.

Today enjoy an escorted tour of the important locations within the city. The tour begins in the heart of the city with visits to Cusco Cathedral with its beautiful interior and the Inca temple of Korikancha which was converted into a church by the Spanish colonists. The tour then continues to the valleys surrounding Cusco to visit the Inca sites of Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman, the latter of which is famous for its monolithic stones and as the location of the annual Inti Raymi festivities.

Embark on a fantastic journey along the length of the Sacred Valley following the ancient road from Cusco to Machu Picchu. The first visit is the traditional village of Chinchero famous for its traditional crafts and with a network of Inca streets and small Inca ruins. After enjoying a demonstration of the crafts techniques that have been passed down for hundreds of years you will visit the ancient colonial church in the village which features a beautifully painted interior. Next stop is the unique circular terraces at the Inca site of Moray and the nearby village of Maras where one side of a steep valley has been converted into countless salt pans over many hundreds of years - it is a wonderful sight to behold. Finally you will arrive at the traditional Inca town of Ollantaytambo to visit the large Inca fortress that overlooks the town. As the day concludes you will return to the Sacred Valley to enjoy a night in the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of this scenic part of Peru.

Option: The Sacred Valley is a popular destination to add a free day before continuing to provide more time to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the valley or the spa services of your hotel. Alternatively after visiting Ollantaytambo travel directly to Machu Picchu and sleep in Machu Picchu Pueblo instead of the Sacred Valley for earlier access to Machu Picchu the following day. Today begins early as we escort you to Ollantaytambo train station so you can enjoy the scenic train through the last few miles of the Sacred Valley as you journey towards Machu Picchu. The train is an excellent way to travel to Machu Picchu passing through Inca terraced landscape with vistas of snowy mountain peaks and traditional Andean farmland. The trainline ends at Machu Picchu Pueblo, the gateway to Machu Picchu itself, and on arrival you will meet your Machu Picchu guide and travel to the ruin for a full tour of this iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will enjoy the unforgettable "postcard" view of the site as well as visiting all of the important areas including the Temple of the Sun and Intihuatana Sundial and will learn about the fascinating history of Machu Picchu and the Inca Empire. After the tour has concluded we will escort you back to Machu Picchu Pueblo where you will have some lunch and free time to explore the town and pick up some souvenirs before returning to Cusco by train later in the afternoon.

Today we will meet you at your hotel to escort you to Cusco airport for an international flight to Buenos Aires (via Lima). On arrival in Buenos Aires we will meet you and escort you to your centrally located hotel where the remainder of the evening is free for you to enjoy your first night in Argentina.

Start your Argentina adventure with a tour to visit the most iconic parts of Buenos Aires and discover more about this exciting city. From the famous obelisk on 9 de Julio street continue to visit Plaza de Mayo to see the Cathedral and Casa Rosada (and its famous "Evita balcony"). From here continue south to San Telmo famous for its antiques shops and market (Sunday only) before touring La Boca, home to the colourful Caminito Street with its tango dancers, souvenir shops and Boca Juniors football stadium. Next visit the port district of Puerto Madero and the residential district of Palermo with its large parks and monuments. The tour concludes in Recoleta, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, where you will find the famous Recoleta cemetery.

This morning enjoy time at leisure to explore Buenos Aires. In the evening you will experience a night of iconic Argentine entertainment at a tango show, one of the most iconic symbols of Argetina. Choose from La Ventana in the heart of San Telmo or Tango Porteño near Buenos Aires' famous obelisk. During the show you will enjoy a delicious traditional Argentinian dinner.

This morning we will escort you to Buenos Aires airport for a short domestic flight to Puerto Iguazu, the gateway to the Iguazu Falls in Argentina's sub-tropical north. On arrival we will escort you to your hotel in this jungle region where the remainder of the day is free for you to adjust to your new surroundings.

The UNESCO World Heritage Iguazu Falls are one of the most beautiful natural wonders on the planet - around 275 individual falls cascade down the largest waterfall system in the world, a truly remarkable sight to behold. Today embark on a fabulous excursion to the Iguazu National Park on the Argentine side of the falls and explore the network of walkways that have been built over and around the falls to provide unique up-close access to the raging waters. Keep an eye out for monkeys, beautiful birds and other animals that are endemic to this region and can be spotted in the park. After enjoying the walkways you will take the small train within the national park to visit the spectacular Devil's Throat, the most furious and powerful part of the falls. The day concludes with a highlight of your visit - an exhilarating boat safari along the river to the base of the falls, just bring some waterproofs as you may get wet!

This morning we will escort you over the border from Argentina into Brazil to enjoy a guided visit of the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls. This side of the falls has less walkways than Argentina but much better views and you will stroll along a 1.2 kilometre path through jungle to admire the panoramic views and soak up the scenery. Afterwards we will escort you back to Argentina and onward to Puerto Iguazu airport for your return flight home.

You may find better international flight options from Sao Paulo in Brazil in which case we can escort you to Foz do Iguacu airport on the Brazil side of the border instead of Puerto Iguazu airport in Argentina.
